As bagpipes played a funeral procession of hundreds of police officers wound through the City of Edmonds, Washington on May 1, 2007 in honor of Police Chief David Stern who had died earlier in the week of a brain aneurysm. Included in the honors for Chief Stern was a riderless horse detail presented by members of the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Mounted Patrol Unit. The riderless horse (P.H. Deputy Shaker) was led by Sgt. Anthony Aston.
