Did you know that many employers provide a Matching Gifts Program to their employees? This a great opportunity for a person to make a real impact in their community by making the most out of their donation dollars to a qualifying 501(c) (3) non-profit organization.
Typically, if your company has a Matching Gifts Program and you have already made a donation DIRECTLY to a qualifying non-profit organization of your choice, your company will then match that donation to the same non-profit on a dollar for dollar basis with cash, stock, or even product.
Please consider “Pennies for Puppies and Ponies” a candidate for your donation dollars and if your employer provides a Matching Gifts Program, consider us. As a qualifying 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on community safety and education, donations to “Pennies for Puppies and Ponies” will have an immediate and lasting positive impact on the quality of life of Snohomish County. And with the multiplier effect of a Matching Gifts Program, “P4PP” can rapidly expand and improve upon its mission to our citizens.

Tuesday, August 7th is the 24th annual National Night Out an unique drug and crime prevention event celebrated across the country in large and small communities, alike - 10,000 communities in 50 states, the U.S. Territories, Canada, and military sites, world-wide. 34 million people joined their neighbors to celebrate their partnership with law enforcement in 2006 and more are expected this year.
This year the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit, SAR-K-9 Unit, and Mounted Unit will celebrating America’s NATIONAL NIGHT OUT in South Snohomish County at McCollum Park in Mill Creek, WA. and in Goldbar, WA. Members of the greater Snohomish County community are encouraged to come out, meet their neighbors and law enforcement officers and focus on fulfilling the goals of the NNO:
- Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
- Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs;
- Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
- Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
- block parties,
- cookouts,
- visits from local police and sheriff departments
- parades, exhibits,
- flashlight walks,
- contests, and
- youth programs.
NNO has proven to be an effective, inexpensive and enjoyable program to promote neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships in our fight for a safer nation. Plus, the benefits your community will derive from NNO will most certainly extend well beyond the one night.
